WOODLAND – Plainville girls volleyball had its season come to a close in the second round of the CIAC’s Class M playoffs Wednesday, losing to No. 8 Woodland 3-0.
The No. 9 Blue Devils lost the three sets 25-14, 25-16 and 25-19.
Plainville ends the season with a record of 16-6. Stats were unavailable at time of publication.
Waterford 3, Goodwin Tech 1: Fifth-ranked Goodwin Tech was eliminated from postseason play Wednesday night, falling to No. 21 Waterford 3-1 in the second round of the CIAC Class M girls volleyball tournament.
Waterford took the first two sets at 25-16 and 25-14 before Goodwin won the third set at 25-21. Waterford put the game to bed with a fourth set win at 25-17.
Maribel Gonzalez had 12 digs and 12 service points. Gabby Radin had 10 digs and Trinity Chambers tallied four aces.
Goodwin closes the season with a record of 17-4.
