Mona Teresa Chassie

Mona Teresa Chassie, 89, of Bristol, passed away peacefully at Ingraham Manor on Tuesday, May 1.

Born in Maine, on April 17, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Eva Chassie. Mona lived briefly in Collinsville, but spent most of her adult life in Bristol, where she was a loving caretaker to her sisters, Patricia, Doris and Earlyne. She worked at New England Spring for at least 20 years and then worked at Rowley Spring and Stamping in Bristol, until retirement in 2011 at the age of 82.

A woman of great faith, Mona enjoyed attending Mass every Sunday and instilled many Catholic traditions into her nieces and nephews, along with their children. She also was an avid bowler and had a passion for golf and Tiger Woods. Mona also cherished every moment she spent with the many nieces and nephews she leaves behind, including her great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mona was predeceased by her three sisters.

Funeral services for Mona will be held at St. Gregory’s Church in Bristol, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12 with no reception to follow.
