Michele E. Caruso, 58, of Plainville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Born in Hartford, daughter of Joan (Davis) Karatkivcz of Unionville (formerly of Avon) and Michael Caruso of Washington, Michele lived in Plainville for over 30 years. She was a member of The First Bible Baptist Church in Plainville.

Surviving are two daughters, Shawn Morris and her husband Robert of Waterbury, and Ashley Cascio of New Britain; a brother, Frank Karatkivcz Jr. and his wife Tiara of Colchester; a sister, Angela Nichols of Florence, S.C.; three grandchildren, Daniel McGillan, Korrine McGillan and Makenna Morris; two nieces and four nephews. Michele was predeceased by her husband, James Cascio, and her stepfather, Frank Karatkivcz.

Funeral services are Tuesday 6 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain, with Pastor Tom Benson officiating. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Center, 201 North Mountain Road, Plainville, CT 06062.
