Area cities has slight increase to COVID-19 cases over the weekend

Area cities all saw small changes to its confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday, according to data released by state health officials.

New Britain had three new cases, bringing the number up to 988 with another 74 considered probable, which remained unchanged since Friday.

Southington’s coronavirus cases saw a single increase, at 324 confirmed and 13 probable.

Bristol has a slight decrease after seeing an increase in its confirmed virus cases for four straight days and now sits at 589 confirmed and 17 probable.

Newington, Berlin, Plainville and Plymouth all had little or no changes to any of their totals Saturday.

Newington saw a single case increase and now sits at 373 confirmed and 22 probable cases.

Plainville also saw a single case increase at 171 confirmed and three probable coronavirus cases.

Berlin stood at 155 confirmed and eight probable coronavirus cases and Plymouth also remained level at 68 confirmed cases and five probable, which were all the same numbers from Friday.

Statewide, there were 12,678 coronavirus tests reported over the past day, with 147 resulting in positive cases. There was a decrease of 21 patients hospitalized with coronavirus, for a total of 106. There were four more deaths across Connecticut Friday, for a total of 4,311.
