To the Editor:
Dedication, commitment and experience. Three highly desirable qualities you would like to see in each candidate seeking a political office.
JoAnn Angelico-Stetson is a candidate for the Connecticut House of Representatives District 30, representing parts of the towns of Southington and Berlin.
JoAnn has actively demonstrated her dedication and commitment to Berlin by serving on its Economic Development Commission, the Board of Education and she currently serves on the Town Council. As a community volunteer for many years, she has gained valuable experience in these roles.
JoAnn is employed as a senior litigation paralegal, an occupation which would provide useful skills for a lawmaker. In her limited spare time, she somehow finds time to implement “The Lasagna Project,” which frequently brings her homemade lasagna to those in need in the two towns which she would like to represent.
In recent years, our state has been experiencing an ongoing budget challenge. The coronavirus pandemic will certainly amplify this challenge. Fortunately, JoAnn has had years of experience working to develop and then balance fiscally sound budgets. She is not afraid to make difficult decisions when required to do so. I have personally witnessed her do such on numerous occasions and have also observed her carefully weigh many factors before casting her vote.
I am confident that she will be a strong and contributory member of the General Assembly. Please support JoAnn Angelico-Stetson’s candidacy on Nov. 3.
