To The Editor:
First Student, the local school bus company, rents from me. They asked for my help with a traffic related issue. Most of the cops I know have retired, so I called Mayor Zoppo. She took my call, listened to the problem, and told me she’d get back to me. In a few hours, she emailed that she talked to the chief and would investigate further. The following day, she let me know she talked to the captain and that the issue had been resolved. In the scheme of things, this was not a big issue for the city, yet Ellen took the time to take action immediately and to follow up. I know how busy the mayor is. For her to take the time to handle this so quickly is impressive. I’m grateful to Ellen, the police chief, the captain who was involved and anyone behind the scenes I don’t know about. I thank you all and wish you a very merry Christmas.
