After several days of high coronavirus case numbers, New Britain reported a smaller amount Tuesday, with six additional residents confirmed as having tested positive for the virus. That comes after the city had 33 reported Monday from the weekend and 96 since last weekend.
The six confirmed tests did put New Britain over 100 since last weekend, at 102. The city has had 1,408 confirmed and 58 probable cases since reporting began. New Britain still stands at 99 (77 confirmed, 22 probable) in total coronavirus-associated deaths.
Bristol had an additional two residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus and seven since the beginning of the weekend. The city has now had 688 confirmed and 18 probable cases of the virus among residents.
Plainville also had an increase of two in residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus. The town has had 187 confirmed cases since reporting began. The town did have a decrease of one in probable cases, falling to two.
Southington had a decrease of one in confirmed coronavirus cases Tuesday, a day after adding five positive cases Monday. The town has had 385 confirmed and 15 probable cases overall.
Berlin also had a decrease in its confirmed virus totals, dropping to 196 confirmed cases overall. The town also had nine probable cases, which had no change.
Newington and Plymouth had no changes Tuesday.
Newington has had 432 confirmed and 20 probable cases, while Plymouth has had 77 confirmed and five probable cases.
Statewide, there were 10,790 coronavirus tests reported Tuesday with 136 coming back as positive cases. There were no new deaths to report but there was an increase of seven in patients hospitalized due to coronavirus. That number now stands at 71.
